Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This policy covers weptt.org only. It does not cover any third-party websites we link to, including our social media pages on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube. Those platforms operate under their own privacy policies.
1. Who We Are
Wildlife and Environmental Protection of Trinidad and Tobago (WEPTT) is a conservation and advocacy organisation based in Trinidad and Tobago. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you visit weptt.org. Questions about this policy may be sent to: wepottd@gmail.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Contact Form
When you submit the contact form, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your selected inquiry type (e.g. wildlife emergency, partnership, general enquiry)
- The message you write
This information is transmitted to our email address (wepottd@gmail.com) via Resend, a transactional email provider. We do not store your submission in a database; it exists only in our email inbox after transmission.
2.2 Server Logs
weptt.org is hosted on Vercel. Vercel automatically records standard server log data for each request, including:
- IP address
- Browser type and version
- Operating system
- Pages visited and timestamps
- Referrer URL
This data is held by Vercel in accordance with their privacy policy and is used for security monitoring and uptime analysis. We do not access individual-level log data for marketing purposes.
2.3 Anti-Spam Processing
The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to detect and block automated submissions. Cloudflare processes certain browser signals (including IP address and browser characteristics) to assess whether a submission is human. No personal data from this process is stored by WEPTT. Cloudflare's handling of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.
2.4 Font Loading
This site loads typefaces (Oswald, Merriweather, Cinzel, and JetBrains Mono) from Google Fonts. When your browser loads these fonts, your IP address is transmitted to Google's servers. We do not control or receive this data. Google's handling is governed by their privacy policy.
2.5 Local Preferences
If you switch between light and dark mode, your preference is saved in your browser's local storage on your device. This information is never transmitted to our servers.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use contact form submissions to:
- Respond to your enquiry, report, or request
- Coordinate a response to wildlife emergencies or environmental concerns you have reported
- Share wildlife sighting or incident reports with relevant wildlife authorities or conservation organisations in Trinidad and Tobago, where necessary to coordinate an appropriate response to the reported concern
Where a sighting or incident report is shared with a third-party authority or organisation, only the information necessary to facilitate a response is shared. We do not share reports for commercial purposes, and we do not share contact details beyond what is needed to enable a follow-up if you have indicated you are willing to be contacted.
We do not use your personal information for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
We process your information on the basis of legitimate interests: responding to wildlife reports and public enquiries is a core activity of WEPTT as a conservation organisation. Where you have voluntarily submitted a wildlife sighting or emergency report, we also process that information with your implied consent to take reasonable action in response.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
Each provider below acts as a data processor for the limited purpose described. We have selected providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.
All providers listed are based in the United States. By using the contact form or visiting weptt.org, you acknowledge that your personal information will be processed outside Trinidad and Tobago, including in the United States. We rely on the standard contractual and data protection commitments published by each provider as the basis for these transfers.

Server log data is retained by Vercel according to their standard retention schedules (typically 30 to 90 days).
7. Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal information through our contact form, please contact us at wepottd@gmail.com and we will delete it.
